Well, hi there! Glad you clicked by today. What can I get you besides a delightfully refreshing cup of coffee? May I suggest a Mexican pastry for a change? How about an oreja (ear), flat, twirled, sweet, and crispy pastry with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top? Perhaps an empanada (turnover) filled with pumpkin and custard? Absolutely scrumptious. Virtually no calories at all! Say, I don’t know if you saw this tidbit in the news. I don’t subscribe to Reuters News Service feed but I do get the occasional item across my jumbled desk and this one tickled my fancy. Have to give the guy an E for effort on this one, I’ll tell you!
According to Reuters, “a Mexican prisoner hoped to take a trip to freedom by packing himself into his girlfriend's suitcase.
But guards at the jail in the southeastern town of Chetumal grew suspicious when the woman seemed nervous as she wheeled out the bulging bag after a conjugal visit with the prisoner.
Opening the luggage, guards found Juan Ramirez folded into the fetal position in his underpants and socks, a spokeswoman for local federal police said on Tuesday.
Ramirez and his girlfriend face criminal charges over the bungled escape.” No surprise there, eh?
But you have to wonder why she would have been allowed to take such a large bag into the prison in the first place, eh? I mean what do you need for a conjugal visit. Certainly not clothes! Ah well…
See ya!

Comment from Chris in Toronto re: Kindle
Just a little more trivia: Amazon is now selling more e-books for its Kindles than hardcover/paperback books. Harlequin is now making its books available as e-books - will target a whole new market to get e-readers! And on iPad, you can download not only e-books, but also audio e-books! (I guess for those who find the iPad at 1.2lbs. too heavy to hold???) Crazy world we live in! Have a good one. Chris
Bob’s reply:
Amazon does seem to have its marketing finger on the pulse of its readers.
