Happy International Cherry Spitting Day!

Well, hi there, my friend. Glad you took time to click on by today. Fill your empty mug, fetch yourself a goodie from the top shelf and come sit a spell. Canada Day is over but there’s a whole month of bizarre, weird, strange and unknown celebrations yet to go. Many of them you may not have heard of so I thought I’d bring you up to date.

July 1st in addition to being Canada Day was also International Chicken Wing Day. Bet you didn’t know that, eh?

Today, July 2nd is International Cherry Pit Spitting Day. Bet you didn’t know that either, huh? Have a happy one!

July 4thof course is Idependence Day - commonly known as the Fourth of July , federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain . Independence Day is generally associated with fireworks , parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States. You likely did know all that. (Loved the movie, too. Seen it several times!)

Throughout the month, there are many celebrations you may or may not have heard of, including:

3 - Stay out of the Sun Day
5 - Bikini Day
7 – Chocolate Day
10 - Don't step on a Bee day. Also PiƱa Colada Day.
16 – Cow Appreciation Day.
17 – Wrong Way Corrigan Day
24 – Tell an old joke Day
27 – Barbie in a Blender Day
29 - Lasagna Day
