Hey! Hey! Enjoying the World Cup? We are. Watched six of seven matches so far. We wanted to watch Japan vs Ivory Coast but it was a tad late for us 'cause Nong had to start at 7:00 today! Too bad Japan lost 2-1. Dang! Anyway... wander over to the coffeepot and pour yourself a slug of java. Take a firm grip on one of those virtual doughnuts or muffins while you're about it. Y'know... after the World Cup, there's usually a letdown. Well Thai fans now have a good reason to stay glued to their TVs...
A Thai billionaire has signed a deal to become the new owner at Reading FC. After two days of talks at Madejski Stadium, an agreement was penned earlier Saturday afternoon.
The news brings to and end a ownership saga which has plagued Royals for almost a year following the disappearance of Anton Zingarevich.
Reading’s new owner, as yet unnamed, will now have to undergo the Football League’s fit and proper persons test before the takeover is confirmed.
One rumour has it that the new owner is Chalerm Yoovidhya, co-owner of Red Bull. As noted, yet to be confirmed.
Maybe he has seen the recent promotion of Leicester (Thailand's King Power ownership) to the EPL and reckons he can do the same.
The club are, however, expected to make some sort of announcement in the coming days.
It's easy to forget all the turmoil in the Thailand political arena, army take-over, et al, when there's fresh football news! Did I mention that Thais are football/soccer mad?
See ya, eh!
