Sawatdee,
krup! Hot days here are reminiscent of our years spent in Bangkok and Pattaya,
Thailand. What a great time for an Ice
Cap from Tims... or if you are in Thailand, that would be a Cafe Yen from Seven. Don't forget to grab a virtual treat to go with your coffee.
7-11 convenience
stores (called ‘Seven’ by Thai people...emphasis on the second syllable ‘seVEN’) abound in Thailand and the entrances are
great places for Thai street dogs to congregate. Nice blast of aircon whenever
someone opens the sliding door to enter or exit. The occasional snack tossed their way is always welcome, too.
Life is good!
Good things always come in pairs: wine and cheese, Saturday and Sunday, stray dogs and 7-Eleven.
The
symbiotic relationship between convenience store and street dog seems so natural
that no one thinks twice about it. It would seem strange to find a 7-Eleven
without a crew of regular four-legged friends who eat, sleep and live there.
Apparently
a little aircon and some handouts from passers-by is all a homeless pooch needs
to get by. Not to mention a 23-hour sleep schedule.
Maa
Naa Seven or “The
Dogs of Seven” serves up eye-candy for dog lovers featuring a collection of
random, cute 7-dwelling dogs.
Besides
the adorable and sometimes, funny pictures, the page also gives shout-outs for
stray dogs that need help.
Then
again, tomorrow’s big thing will probably be 7-Goat fanpages. I have no idea
how that goat got in with the dogs... but remember, goats have voracious appetites!
See ya,
eh!
Bob
